” Orange Village (colloquially called simply “Orange”) got its name from many of the early settlers who had come from Orange, Connecticut. What was once Orange Township was the birthplace of former president James A. Garfield. Since then, the township has been divided into five sections, one of which is Orange Village. It is an affluent rural suburb of Cleveland, sitting 18 miles west of the city and a 22-minute drive away. It occupies 3.83 square miles and is home to an estimated 3,290 residents.
In the northeastern corner of the village sits Beechmont Country Club, which was established in 1923 and has hosted the Cleveland Open in 1963 and 1971. With water coming into play on 7 of the 18 holes, Beechmont is considered one of the toughest golf courses in the region.
For those interested in dining, there are deliciously suitable options for everyone, ranging from the upscale (Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant, Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse) to the more traditional (Slyman’s Tavern, The Village Diner). ” – Orange Village
