“Kirtland, Ohio is a suburb of Cleveland and is located 23 miles east of the city. It’s a small rural town consisting of 6,822 people. The first-ever Mormon temple was constructed in Kirtland in 1836, and the town served as the base for the Latter-Day Saint movement from 1831 to 1837. The town was named after Turhand Kirtland, who was a Trumbull County judge and a veteran of the American Revolutionary War.
